Corporate induction is a very necessary part of the flow of any organisation. Optimising the integration of the individual into the flow and ebb of the organisation is essential, but to often the opportunity is squandered and lost and at worst the newcomer is demotivated to the point of immediately leaving the position. Surely it would be worth the extra effort to integrate the individual into the culture and ethos of the organisation. Or is that the rub? Does the organisation have a clear, open, positive culture? Do all the individuals really understand where they fit and how they should interact? So is the issue that the organisation is actually not clear of who and what it is and therefore falls back on the comfort of induction by legislation, by manuals and rules. Shame, challenge the system, challenge the culture and introduce a fun mechanism of induction! Come on I challenge you in this New Year to do something different.
